1967 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior ‘Stepnose’ For Sale
Sale Price: $66,995
When you see these Alfa’s you just want to get in and enjoy one of the most beautiful and finest driving models that Alfa Romeo has ever made, and this example will not disappoint.
This 1967 production GT 1300 Junior was originally delivered to Australia early in 1968, in Muschio Verde (Musk Green), as confirmed by the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin that accompanies the car. It is a more desirable ‘Stepnose’ which is highly sought after by collectors.
This car has been well looked after by the current owner who has had it for over 15 enjoyable years. Prior to his ownership the Junior had an engine swap to a 1750 motor with the seats being changed to the desirable ‘flying buttress’ type from a 1750 GTV.
New paint was applied around 7 years ago with very minimal panel work required. The body is generally excellent with some imperfections in the paint; however, it generally presents well and the panel gaps are right.
All the stainless steel brightwork is in good order and sets the car off beautifully. The wheels look original and are very presentable.
The interior of the car is just lovely. The original steering wheel greets you and the dash and dials are something that just looks perfect to the eye. The gauges have been restored and look fresh. The wood veneer on the face of the early style dash has the usual minor cracking and the glovebox lid has been painted black . The roof lining is new and in the correct ‘snake bite’ material and there are no tears or parting of seams to any of the seats. The carpets look fresh with little wear.
Turn the key and the engine fires up to a familiar Alfa growl. Out on the open road this car is just superb. The gearbox is good with no synchro issues as you would expect given it was rebuilt. It is accurate, smooth, and quick to work through the gears and using it is quite addictive. The engine is responsive and pulls well with no smoke.
The engine bay is clean and appealing to the eye. The boot mat is correct and wheel well in remarkably good and original condition.
These 105’s are great driver’s cars, and we can see why they are so sought after. With freshly restored ‘Stepnose’ examples still fetching well north of $100,000 this car represents good buying.
