1973 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior

Sale Price: SOLD

When you see these Alfa’s you just want to get in and enjoy one of the most beautiful and finest driving models that Alfa has ever made and this example will not disappoint.

This 1973 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior we have for sale is an original Australian delivery. As a ‘Junior’, it comes with the more desirable twin binnacle dash seen on the earlier cars along with the smaller rear light clusters. These are seen as more aesthetically pleasing to Alfa Romeo collectors.

This 1973 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior has been known to us for some time, and we are advertising on behalf of our client.

It has clearly seen the benefit of much work and expenditure throughout the car. The body and paint were finished as recently as 2017 after a bare metal respray, and the Alfa Rosso paint has clearly been well applied and presents just brilliantly. The panel gaps are spot-on.

The interior of the car is just lovely, with everything as it should be – it will be hard to find a better-kept 1973 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior for sale on the Gold Coast or probably elsewhere! A Nardi steering wheel greets you, and the dash and dials are just something you just look perfect to the eye.

There is a crack on the original dash-top, but this can be repaired if required. The seats have velour inserts and are comfortable and supportive with very minimal signs of wear. The headlining is fresh and pin-sharp. As you would expect from a car of this quality, there are no rips or tears, and everything is present as it should be.

Turn the key, and the engine fires up to a familiar Alfa growl. The engine is a later 2.0 version, and this swap is common on these 105’s. Out on the open road, this car is just superb. The gearbox is the best we have ever used, it is accurate, smooth and quick to work through the gears and using it is quite addictive. The engine is responsive and pulls like a train. The suspension benefits from some modifications and only helps in providing razor-sharp handling.

This is one well-sorted car and a driver’s delight. It begs to be taken out in the hills for a good blast.

The wheels are all perfect, and the engine bay is clean and appealing to the eye. The boot mat looks like new. These 105’s are great driver’s cars, and we can see why they are so sought after. Freshly restored cars are fetching well north of $100,000, and this 1973 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior represents good buying. The car is serviced, on the button and ready to go.
